Levels 1 and 2

  • Students can recognise patterns occurring in the weather.

  • Students can explore and discuss major features of the weather, for example, wind, clouds, and rain.

  • Students can explore repeating environmental patterns associated with the Earth, Sun, and Moon, for example, night and day, seasons, and tides.

  • The Arts (Dance): Move in response to environmental stimuli.


  • English (Reading and Viewing): Observe signs and symbols used to identify environmental features and discuss the way in which visual signs convey their meaning.


  • Mathematics and Statistics (Statistics): Classify environmental events, such as “the sun will rise tomorrow”, “the grass will turn brown tomorrow”, “it will snow when it’s hot”, as certain, possible, or impossible.
