Students can make a model of their immediate local landscape and locate places of significance on it.
Students can suggest how their model of the landscape may be different to the landscape in the past
Level 2
Investigate obvious features and patterns in the environment and discuss how people affect them.
Students can explore local landscapes and environments and identify easily observable physical features.
Students can suggest some of the processes that slowly change landforms.
Social Sciences: Different resources that people use eg. Home vegetable gardens, the use of materials in the local environment to build shelters
Social Sciences: How people’s activities influence places and the environment and are influenced by them eg. The location and use of water sources.
The Arts (Music - Sound Arts): Find different ways of making sounds with sound sources from the environment.
Mathematics and Statistics (Geometry and Measurement): Make and use unconventional instruments, such as a water clock or a sundial, to measure time.
