Level 1

  • Share and clarify ideas about easily observable examples of forces and energy,

  • Describe uses of items of everyday technology and, in simple terms, suggest how they work.

Level 2

  • Investigate and describe ideas about everyday examples of forces and energy.

  • Explore trends and relationships between easily observable forms of force and energy.

  • Describe, in simple terms, how items of everyday technology work and affect our lives, for example, toasters.

  • Social Sciences: Different resources that people use eg. Home vegetable gardens, the use of materials in the local environment to build shelters

  • English (Reading and Viewing): View a television advertisement for an “environmentally friendly” product and consider how the product is presented to the viewer through dialogue, words on the screen, music, and types of characters.

  • Technology: Produce technological solutions in a range of technological areas and contexts.

  • Technology: Share ideas about the ways in which familiar technologies affect their lives eg. the use and disposal of plastics

  • Technology: Identify different views about a specific technological development within the local community eg. roading, waste disposal
