Observe and identify types of common plants.
Students can share experiences and classify plant foods as fruits or vegetables according to their observable features.
Level 2
Students can use differences and similarities in observable features to distinguish between groups of fruits and vegetables, for example, root vegetables and leaf vegetables.
Social Sciences: Different resources that people use eg. Home vegetable gardens, the use of materials in the local environment to build shelters
Mathematics and Statistics (Number and Algebra): Develop a number sense through exploring numbers of wings, feet, segments, antennae.
Mathematics and Statistics (Geometry and Measurement): Explore a variety of shapes and objects found in nature by touching, observing, and talking about them.
