  • Students can describe how major natural features of the local landscape have formed and changed over time.

  • Investigate the features of the Earth’s major water reserves and link these features to the water cycle.

  • Social Sciences: How people organise themselves in response to challenge and crisis eg. Civil defence emergencies


  • Social Sciences: Causes and effects of events that have shaped the lives of a group of people eg. Natural disasters, environmental damage caused by wars.


  • Mathematics and Statistics (Geometry and Measurement): Measure the amount of rainfall in a given area over a defined period of time.
