Te Mātauranga o Aotearoa
Uses of Science: Learn about the people and the work they do to produce science knowledge. Apply knowledge of science to community decisions and actions, in order to think about iwi and wider issues impacting on the individual, society and the environment.
Te Whakamahinga o te Pūtaiao: Ka ako mō ngā mahi me ngā kaimahi e whakaputaina ai ngā mātauranga pūtaiao. Ka whakahāngai i tōna mōhio pūtaiao ki ngā whakatau me ngā mahi o te ao tangata, arā, hei whakaaro ki ngā take ā-iwi, me ngā take whānui, e pā ana ki te tangata, te porihanga me te taiao.

The Arts (Drama): Select and develop a series of scenes to examine an environmental issue in the community.
The Arts (Drama): Demonstrate some of the functions of drama (eg. to amuse, inform, entertain) on an environmental issue.
English (Reading and Viewing): Read a story on an environmental issue and respond in a way that demonstrates understanding, such as by illustrating it or by improvising a short drama
English (Reading and Viewing): Read a non-fiction text on an environmental issue and identify the way its structure assists the reader to gain information through such things as the title, table of contexts, headings and subheadings, pictures and captions, diagrams, index, and glossary.
English (Oral Language): Listen to and respond to others during class or group discussions on environmental issues.
English (Oral Language): Identify the main ideas when listening to a recording relating to an environmental issue.
