Level 1
Investigating how heating and cooling can cause changes in familiar materials.
Levels 1 and 2
Be able to investigate the rate at which similar materials melt or dry and suggest reasons for these differences.
Using fair-testing principles, be able to investigate and explain the different rates at which two different-sized Jaffas dissolve in water.
Be able to investigate and describe the changes that take place when popcorn kernels are heated.
Level 2
Be able to investigate and report on changes that occur when food colouring diffuses through water.
Be able to describe, from observation, how cream changes physically as it is made into ice cream!
The Arts (Dance): Move in response to environmental stimuli.
Mathematics and Statistics (Number and Algebra): Find examples of patterns in the natural environment which demonstrate that some patterns continue without end.
